Blondies Kitchen

There are certain food combinations that just work, universally.  Peaches and cream, cheese and crackers, milk and cookies.  So it’s no surprise when Blondies Kitchen opened their milk and cookie bar in Old Street it was a huge success.  The two blonde chefs behind Blondies Kitchen, Chelsie and Kristelle launched their pop up again this year in Selfridges, as their first retail collaboration and brought with them some exciting new flavours.

I arrived in the food hall to find assistants busily serving away from their little stall.  Their Instagram updates announced constantly how they were sold out of cookies mid-day and I wanted to get my cookie fix so, I was glad to see they were full stocked on that particular day.

Just one look at the stacks of cookies and you could tell the freshly baked batch would have the right amount of crunch and chew; it was difficult to decide which I wanted so naturally, I ordered a selection box and got them all.

The cookies came in the following flavours, ‘Classic’ milk choc chip, ‘Double chocolate’ Tahini with sesame seeds, ‘Get Stuffed’ Oreo cookie stuffed with Nutella , ‘Kinder Love You’ Kinder Bar, vanilla cookie dough (my fave) all for 3.50 each.  They also had a gluten free cookie ‘the Gluten Who?’ Peanut butter, oats and a new flavour the Raspberry & Coconut which were both £3 each.

However if you wanted more than just a cookie you could order the Cookie Icon – two classic cookies sandwiched with honeycomb chocolate mousse for £6, yummy!

Then there was the selection of milk in vintage milk bottles, they’re so cute and nostalgic.  The ‘just milk’ was a bit overpriced at £3 a bottle for literally just milk.  The ‘Almond Milk’ was lactose free and for those with sweet tooth like myself there’s the Cereal Milk.  Chocolate ‘Coco Pops’ and the ‘Frosted Flakes.’  I felt like a child who’d just finished my bowl of Frosties and was now going to sip up all the milk, it was really tasty though especially with the cookie.

The Pop up may have closed for the year but if you still want to get hold of those yummy cookies then keep an eye out on their site for an online shop launching really soon…
