If you’re anything like me then London Summer time can only mean one thing; ice cream. For breakfast? Yes. Lunch? Of course. Dinner? I think you know. And I don’t even mean for afters I mean instead of.
With the whole of summer ahead and so much more to try, there will no doubt be another round up of the best ice creams in town however, for now, let’s look at the most instagrammable. So what makes these ice creams instagrammable? They’re trending, they’re new and exciting and most importantly, oh so pretty! So have a look to see what London has to offer…

Soft Serve Society
Instagram factor: Soft Serve Ice cream
Soft Serve ice cream serves more than just delicious Mr Whippy ice cream from a machine, for most people including myself, it serves a childhood memory. Remember those nostalgic moments of running behind the ice cream van, just so you can order the delicious 99 with a flake? Fast forward to now and soft serve comes in many interesting flavours and toppings. At Soft Serve Society you can choose between Vanilla, Matcha, Charcoal and Coconut.
Where: Unit 35 BOXPARK, 2-10 Bethnal Green Rd, London E1 6GY
If you like this try: Gelupo, amazing soft serve ice cream in exciting flavours.

Milk Train Cafe
Instagram factor: Ice cream with Candy Floss
It’s Soft Serve ice cream floating in a cloud of Candyfloss, need I say more? Choose between vanilla, matcha and hojicha flavours and then a choice of 3 toppings. No wonder there’s always a queue outside the Milk Train Café and you’ll most definitely be spotting more than a few of these ice creams floating around Covent Garden as people try and find the perfect spot to instagram their ice creams. Don’t take all day finding the right angle though, the candy floss disappears pretty fast and the ice cream melts just as rapidly.

Amorino
Instagram factor: The Gelato Rose.
Create your own Amorino Rose with creamy Italian Gelato. You can combine as many ice cream flavours as you want so take advantage of not being limited to the standard two/three scoops of ice cream. Also why have scoops when you can have a beautifully constructed rose? How original!
Where: 110 Upper St, London N1 1QN (and other branches)

Bubblewrap Waffle
Instagram factor: Egg waffle
Somehow the idea of a wafer cone sounds so boring when you consider the alternative can be an egg waffle! The Cantonese street snack has now been pimped out with variety of ice creams, sauces, cream and toppings so can spend ages salivating and deciding what combination you’ll have. No wonder the queues last forever.
Where: 24 Wardour St, London W1D 6QJ
If you like this try: Bake also do Bubblewrap waffles

Bake
Instagram factor: Taiyaki Matcha Ice cream
Another yummy find in China Town and also a popular street snack. The Taiyaki is a fish shaped cake using pancake/waffle batter poured in to fish shaped moulds until golden brown. This makes the ‘cone’ slightly crispy on the outside, whilst soft on the inside. Add soft serve Vanilla and matcha ice cream and you’re on to a winner.
Where: 9 Wardour St, London W1D 6PF

Pan N Ice
Instagram factor: Rolled Ice Cream
It’s always good to know what exactly goes in to your ice cream, even better if you handpick the ingredients yourself. There’s also something very satisfying in watching the ice cream process as the ingredients get sliced, diced and mashed right in front of you till it’s nothing but a slab of smoothly laid out ice cream (of frozen yogurt) on an ice plate. The ice cream then is beautifully scraped and rolled into little rolls of perfection and placed in a tub, topped with goodies.
Where: Westfield Stratford City, Olympic Park, Montfichet Rd, London E20 1EJ

Yolkin
Instagram factor: Macaron Ice cream Sandwich
Love ice cream sandwiched between cookies? Then how about with macarons?? Siam Eatery in Covent Garden serves four different freshly made macaron ice cream sandwiches. Filings change weekly so you’re in for a surprise every time, especially with flavours like lavendar, blueberry cheesecake, banoffee and Vietnamese coffee.
Where: 24 Wellington St, London WC2E 7DD

Melba at the Savoy
Instagram factor: Éclair Ice cream
Melba is The Savoy’s gourmet counter on the Strand and its new pop up outside, for the summer serves the beautifully crafted Iceclairs. Delicious light choux pastry with handmade ice cream from dark chocolate, pistachio, salted caramel or wild berries. Have them dipped in a chocolate sauce of your choice and then indulge in some lavish toppings. Golden popping candy?
Where: The Savoy, Strand, London WC2R 0EU
If you like this try: Chin Chin Labs The Choux-wich (a choux ice cream sandwich)

Chin Chin Labs
Instagram factor: Waffle Taco filled with avocado ice cream
Step in to the labs to experience clouds of liquid nitrogen formulate ice cream right in front of your eyes. Although their Brownwich ice cream sandwich is as popular as ever, that’s not stopped them from experimenting! The Avo Taco is a combination of taco and waffle with an avocado ice cream filling topped with house cream and crunchy fried corn. The result? Tested and approved.
Where: 54 Greek Street, London, W1D 3DS

Blu Top
Instagram factor: Ice Cream Sandwich
With freshly hand baked cookies like brown butter choc chip, red velvet, cinnamon, and double choc, you can’t not have an ice cream sandwiched between these. Especially with ice cream flavours like honey and rosemary or lime and pineapple. Delish!
Where: Constantly moving around, last seen at Camden Kerb.
