Nutella launched its first pop up in Knightsbridge on the 5th floor terrace of Harvey Nichols. Unlike most pop ups which try to make the most out of their temporary status by getting as many people in as possible, Harvey Nics barely advertised. In fact other than their actual website the Nutella Café otherwise was unheard of. I’d assume it meant they were shut but since we were already shopping in the store I thought I’d go and find out for myself. The terrace had a lovely view looking over Knightsbridge and the shelves were decorated with pyramids of Nutella, enticing passer-by’s to buy their own personalised jar. The setting itself was not the ‘Italian alpine winter lodge’ they described which was a particular shame as it would have looked beautiful during the Christmas period. They also had an abandoned raclette grill, perhaps there to entertain customers with freshly made crepes. I’m not sure why they didn’t go through with the idea as it had such potential but luckily the menu was still on.

We ordered the crepes filled with strawberry and banana and lots of Nutella and the ‘Top O’ The Morning Trifle Parfait’ with natural yoghurt, fresh berries, scone and even more Nutella. We then sipped our hot drinks watching the view from the terrace, wrapped up in the red shawls they provided and coo’d over the those extremely cute mini Nutella jars we were given to take home. What more could you want?
